In this critical role, you will oversee the quality of all production processes, equipment and tooling. You will support manufacturing production associates in all aspects by providing proper tools, documentation and equipment necessary to ensure the quality of all products. You will maintain oversight to ensure that product flow is continuous through the cells and that production processes are efficiently designed and continuously improved. And, you will be responsible for new product introductions into manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing measures to improve processes, including quality, throughput and cycle times, making recommendations and working in conjunction with cell CPI (continuous process improvement) team initiatives.
  • Interface with various departments including Engineering, Test, Material Control, and Quality to ensure documentation is complete and used during design and production. Review and approve all manufacturing level documentation prior to release to production.
  • Provide manufacturing support to Engineering on new product development, including DFM (Design for Manufacturability), production tooling, cell documentation, cell design, tooling design, and assembly flow.
  • Establish the requirements for procurement and supply of necessary production tools, process tooling, and equipment used in production.
  • Conduct workmanship, special process and procedure training with employees, facilitating the training certification process.
  • Assist in auditing of all manufacturing process procedures. Create and maintain cell documentation.
  • Assist in investigating and analyzing component, material or product failures through collection and analysis of appropriate data. Define appropriate corrective and preventative actions, communicate in manner that can be easily understood and implemented by production.
  • Proficient in the use of PC based CAD software such as AutoCad and SolidWorks.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly diagrams and cell documents, and explain to associates.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field, preferably from an ABET accredited program.
