Overview

We’re looking for an experienced training manager to manage the North America training business including management of the MSA authorized service center programs. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and improvement of MSA certified training programs for all core product groups.  If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, then we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

Description of duties and responsibilities:

  • Provides input on strategy and develops operating plan in support of corporate and departmental objectives.
  • Drives performance through the implementation and execution of action plans in support of operating plan.
  • Provides, coaching, mentoring and leadership for training staff to excel in delivering customer satisfaction and business growth.
  • Measures and reports on performance against plan using key metrics. Develops department training budgets and is responsible for the management of both US and Canada training department budgets to plan.
  • Partners and communicate with both internal and external customers including sales management, channel partners and end users.
  • Partners with sales, marketing and web development staff to develop appropriate training programs, promotions, marketing collateral and web content.
  • Willingness to travel 20% in the US and Canada.

 

Qualifications

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Experience developing, marketing, selling and delivering training programs.
  • Experience with protection and detection products, preferably with MSA products in a training, service or support role.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing a business function/unit

Education and experience required:

  • This position is available at three different career levels based upon experience, education, etc:
    • Level I - Associates Degree in a technical field or educational academic equivalent; Two years of supervisory or leadership experience in a service, manufacturing or military setting may be substituted for an Associate’s degree
      • 3 years supervisory or leadership experience;
      • 3 years of service or related experience
    • Level II - Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or educational academic equivalent; Four years of supervisory or leadership experience in a service, manufacturing or military setting may be substituted for an Bachelor’s degree
      • 5 years supervisory or leadership experience
      • 5 years of service or related experience
    • Level III - Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or educational academic equivalent; Four years of supervisory or leadership experience in a service, manufacturing or military setting may be substituted for an Bachelor’s degree
      • 7 years supervisory or leadership experience
      • 7 years of service or related experience
    • Masters, advanced degree, (or relevant military experience) may be substituted for up to 2 years of supervisory and / or work experience

Preferred:

  • Masters or advanced degree / certification
