Overview

We’re looking for a dynamic Associate Accountant with strong analytical abilities to join our team.  Reporting to the Lead Accountant/Supervisor in the Northern North America/Corporate General Ledger Department, you will be responsible for supporting that team by assisting in the month-end closing process for several company codes, mainly in the U.S. and Canada, as well as various reporting requirements and data analysis.  Build a rewarding career and help make the world safer, one person at a time.

Responsibilities

  

Description of duties and responsibilities:

  • Create monthly journal entries and input into SAP
  • Complete and gather backup for monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Review results of financials upload to BPC and perform analysis as necessary
  • Compile monthly inter-company billing backup packages and assist in the balancing of inter-company accounts
  • Collect data for Internal and External audit requests as well as for various internal controls
  • Support  with process improvements and other initiatives to improve the efficiency of the position and the department
  • Support Accounting Supervisor in global chart of accounts and authorization table maintenance
  • Coordinate with Shared Services (AP and AR) to ensure timely recording of cash and payables
  • Develop toward department point of contact (“customer service rep”) for all department service requests (such as expense and cost center re-classes or information)

Qualifications

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Thorough understanding of financial analysis with strong analytical abilities
  • Excellent Excel skills (including VLookups and Pivot Tables)
  • Creative problem solving and ability to generate high quality innovative solutions
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and team building skills

Education and experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance or related discipline

Preferred:

  • 1 year Accounting experience
  • SAP FICO experience
  • PowerPoint presentation skills
  • BPC software experience
