Overview

We’re looking for a dynamic Sr. Financial Analyst with strong analytical abilities to join our team. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Analysis and Investor Relations, you will prepare moderate to complex financial reports and work closely with the FP&A and Investor Relations teams to support MSA’s strategic planning process, financial performance analysis, enterprise risk management program and internal and external strategic financial communications. The Sr. Financial Analyst has a strong desire to build skills and knowledge across various areas of finance including FP&A, Corporate Development, Strategic Planning and Investor Relations. Responsibilities

Description of duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and interpret detailed financial models and analysis to provide insight into financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
  • Actively support MSA’s quarterly earnings reporting process by providing data and performing financial analysis to develop key messages for internal and external financial communications including the press release, 10-K, and earnings call.
  • Utilize data systems to build custom reports and analyze business trends; take ownership of financial systems to ensure finance is using technological tools efficiently and effectively
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to varied audiences and effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
  • Assist in developing MSA’s long range financial plan, sensitivity analysis, and key financial measures.
  • Support MSA’s bi-annual enterprise risk management refresh process by assisting with survey preparation, interview documentation and presentation development.
  • Complete ad-hoc financial analysis and participate in various FP&A processes including the annual budget refresh, quarterly forecasting, and corporate development activities.

Qualifications

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP financial statements with strong analytical abilities and strategic thinking skills
  • Creative problem solving and ability to generate high quality innovative solutions
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and experience preparing presentations
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven ability to interact and thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally 

Preferred:

  • Familiar with a variety of data systems to create financial reports and analyze business trends – knowledge of SAP BPC and SAP Business Warehouse is a distinct advantage


Education and experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
  • 4 years of financial analysis experience in a global corporate environment, or public accounting experience serving public multi-national clients

  • CFA
