    We’re looking for a hands-on Industrial Engineer with project leadership and problem solving skills to work in our collaborative team environment. Develop and implement work standards and participate on new product development teams. If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, then we want to hear from you!

    Responsibilities

    • Actively advocate Behavior Based Safety in all aspects of plant operations. Initiate efforts to improve workplace ergonomics.
    • Contribute to the creation, implementation and sustainment of an operating system that leverages visual factory and root cause problem solving as ways to drive key behaviors that promote a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Apply standard engineering methods and lean manufacturing tools (Value Stream Mapping, Time Studies, Line Balancing, Kanban, and One Piece Flow).
    • Develop and improve manufacturing processes (Work Instructions, Layout, Bill of Materials and Routings).
    • Coordinate project teams to make focused improvements.
    • Leads coordinating efforts on projects with awareness of budget and milestone goals.
    • Recommend capital equipment additions and develop appropriate justifications.
    • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

    Qualifications

    Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

    • Solid interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence behaviors.
    • Proven ability to simultaneously and independently manage multiple tasks, solve technical problems, lead projects and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques (Value Stream Mapping, One Piece Flow, Setup Reduction, Visual Controls etc.)
    • Solid organizational, problem solving and team building skills.

    Preferred:

    • Six Sigma and project management experience.
    • Strong mechanical ability.
    • Experience with MS Project, Auto CAD and Visual Basic

     

    Education and experience required:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial engineering discipline from an accredited college/university.

     

    Preferred:

     

    • Internship or Co-op experience in manufacturing industry.
