    We are looking for a dynamic Senior or Intermediate Financial Analyst with strong analytical abilities to join our team.  Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, the analyst will prepare moderate to complex financial reports and work closely with the global FP&A team to support MSA’s strategic planning process, financial performance analysis and monthly general administrative and selling expense reviews.  The successful candidate has a strong desire to build skills and knowledge across various areas of finance including FP&A, Corporate Development and Strategic Planning.  Build a rewarding career and help make the world safer, one person at a time.




    Description of duties and responsibilities:


    • Assist in developing the company’s long-range and annual plans.
    • Support the quarterly forecast process as well as the resulting business reviews.
    • Complete analysis of actual results to provide meaningful insight into the company’s financial performance including in-depth explanations on deviations from plan and forecast.
    • Own the monthly preparation of the general administrative and selling expense review materials and work closely with the global FP&A team as well as functional leadership to prepare the monthly general administrative and selling expense executive presentation.
    • Work with the global FP&A team to design and implement best practices in order to streamline the planning process.
    • Develop and interpret detailed and complex financial models to provide executive management with the information needed to make strategic decisions.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations to varied audiences and effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
    • Take ownership of the Company’s financial systems to ensure Finance is using technological tools efficiently and effectively.
    • Complete ad-hoc financial analysis and participate in various FP&A processes including the annual budget refresh, quarterly forecasting, and corporate development activities.


    Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

    • Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP financial statements with strong analytical abilities and strategic thinking skills
    • Creative problem solving and ability to generate high quality innovative solutions
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
    • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and experience preparing presentations
    • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
    • Proven ability to interact and thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment
    • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally 


    • Familiar with a variety of data systems to create financial reports and analyze business trends – knowledge of SAP BPC and SAP Business Warehouse is a distinct advantage
    • Experience building complex financial models, including valuation models.

    Education and experience required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
    • This position is available at two different career levels based upon experience, education, etc:
      • Level I - 2 years of financial analysis experience in a global corporate environment, or public accounting experience serving public multi-national clients
      • Level II - 4 years of financial analysis experience in a global corporate environment, or public accounting experience serving public multi-national clients


    • MBA
    • CPA or CFA
