    This position is primarily responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and also performs scheduled maintenance repairs. Performs work requiring skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, etc. Adherence to safety, housekeeping and quality standards as they relate to the production and company’s objective is required. In addition, this position is responsible for cost containment by eliminating waste.

    Responsibilities

    • Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs production machines and facility equipment.
    • Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments.
    • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders.
    • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance to production machine and facility equipment.
    • Confers with service representatives and researches and orders corrects parts for equipment.
    • Completes and maintains relevant paperwork.
    • Assists in all areas of production equipment and facility maintenance.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

    • Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
    • Ability to understand standard/metric units of measure.
    • Ability to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices.
    • Ability to sometimes lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds without assistance.
    • Ability to use power and hand tools.
    • Ability to use and check safety on cranes.
    • Ability to interact with CMM (Computerized Maintenance Management) and be computer literate.
    • Ability to analyze and plan each job in order to determine tools, equipment and materials necessary.
    • Ability to work at various heights which necessitates the use of ladders, scaffolding, and motorized lifts.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporaries.
    • Ability to understand process controllers for programming and repair including CNCs, PLCs, etc.
    • Ability to operate a fork truck and a pallet jack.
    • Ability to wear respirator when needed.
    • Ability to walk, stand, crouch, stoop, bend, reach and climb for prolonged periods of time.
    • Ability to work independently and perform work under minimal supervision
    • May occasionally be required to work other shifts. Must be flexible.
    • Must be available for on-call for 24 hour emergency response.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.

    Education and experience required:    

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • 6 months maintenance experience or relevant experience/coursework.

    Preferred

    • Technical school or additional technical training in applicable field.
    • 3 – 5 years previous maintenance experience in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance.

    Schedule: 3rd Shift (10:30PM - 7:00AM)

    *This position will train on 1st shift (6:30AM - 3:00PM)
