  • Overview

    The Global Environmental Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an Environmental Compliance Program that is consistent for MSA globally. This position will leverage existing resources and best practices in an effort to drive facility compliance and support, product environmental compliance, and sustainability consistent with business goals. 


    • Ensure facility environmental compliance by developing corporate expectations and guidelines, environmental standards, metrics, employee training tools
    • Ensure MSA products meet applicable product, packaging, and transportation environmental requirements.  Drive compliance and consistency in product packaging and hazardous material shipping efforts that meet both country and regional requirements, including but not limited to: EU RoHS, China RoHS, REACH SVHS, Conflict Materials, Prop 65, TSCA, and Global SDS's.
    • Develop associates globally ensuring specific locations have competent personnel trained in HAZMAT transportation regulations, TSCA, SDS's and country / region specific requirements.
    • Drive environmental sustainability by developing and implementing facility reduction programs, (waste and reuse, air emissions, toxics and water), product design, packaging & transportation and community outreach efforts to align with business goals.   
    • Develop and maintain an Environmental Compliance Contact Network of MSA associates 
    • Maintain global environmental reporting processes and structures for monitoring of sites performance 
    • Serve as the immediate global reporting center for tracking and responding to environmental incidents, regulatory agency inspections and communication with respective business leaders.
    • Support and lead any changes to product environmental compliance regulations. Coordinate with marketing, legal, purchasing, etc. to develop and implement a compliance plan.
    • Participate in acquisitions and divestitures relative to EHS due diligence.
    • It is anticipated this position will require approximately 25% global travel.


    Education (required): 

    • B.S. degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Sciences or related discipline.


    • Masters or advanced degree in  Environmental, Health & Safety, Sciences or related discipline.
    • CEP or related certifications

    Experience (required): 

    • 8+ years environmental or related experience
    • Experience in driving corporate environmental programs / initiatives
    • Excellent communication skills


    • Global / multi-site manufacturing experience
    • Experience with regulations such as EU RoHS, China RoHS, REACH, TSCA, global SDS's, etc.
    • Familiar with Lean principles
