  • Overview

    We are looking for a hands-on SMT cell operator to work in our collaborative manufacturing environment in Lake Forest, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly and preparation of electronic and mechanical components for printed circuit boards (PCB) and related items in accordance with diagrams, documented procedures and prototypes.     • Inspect front and back of boards visually under magnifier and/or microscope extracted from SMT machine, punch out plastic holes as needed and add serial number to board. Solder parts to boards not attached by SMT machine; and clean excess flux on board with q-tip. Identify component issues and remove and replace components manually as necessary. Notify cell lead of any quality issues detected from SMT machine.  
    • Pull secondary parts bin when primary bin is emptied. Notify cell lead or stock room when primary bin requires replenishment. Deliver empty parts bin to stock room or prep area.
    • Clean boards in flow solder room using board washing machine.
    • Complete and maintain relevant paperwork and input inventory information into ERP system.
    • Deliver completed assemblies to buffer area, which may be completed with use of cart.


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Ability to read, write, and speak English including work instructions and test procedures.
    • Ability to read and interpret assembly diagrams.
    • Solid soldering skills - including ability to solder under a magnifier.
    • Strong manual dexterity for use of hand tools and power tools including cordless drills, screw drivers, pneumatic guns, pliers, wire cutters, etc.
    • Detail-oriented in order to prepare and assemble circuit board components.
    • Ability to regularly perform work that requires magnification and distinguish among different color coatings on wires.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Ability to lift and pull up to 10lbs and push a cart up to 25lbs   


    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • At least 3 months of electronic soldering experience.
    • Must be able to pass a respirator physical.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • At least 3 years of electronic soldering experience.
    • SMT soldering experience.
