    Are you motivated by solving complex business and technical problems?  Are you passionate about data?  Are you excited about the latest trends in data analysis through machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI)?  The MSA IT Analytics team is looking for a resourceful and bright professional with strong analytical abilities and a fresh perspective.  As a valuable member of the IT Analytics team, you will be responsible for developing, supporting, and administering business analytics solutions at MSA. You will evangelize, promote, and facilitate the use of analytics by serving as an enterprise expert and resource on the processes, data and tools needed to provide business leaders with actionable insights. Your analytics solutions will transform data into compelling insights that lead to actionable recommendations and drive business results.     Responsibilities

    Description of duties and responsibilities:

    • Consult with business units to understand their analytics needs
    • Design, develop and deliver analytics solutions with consideration for functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance
    • Use expert knowledge of data visualization tools to deliver information in a way that enables business users to quickly understand data and ask better questions
    • Develop the analytics community at MSA by coaching and training business analysts across the organization and connecting analytics community members together
    • Help define enterprise data and technology needs to support business intelligence and analytics

    Qualifications

    Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

    • Experience designing, developing and configuring within SAP Business Warehouse
    • Experience with data management disciplines including data governance, data architecture, data modeling, data storage, data security, data integration and data quality
    • Experience using the BEx Query Designer and/or Power BI to design and develop robust reporting applications for different types of users
    • Ability to lead or participate in business sessions to identify and document analytic use cases
    • Ability to build strong relationships with senior management based on trust and credibility
    • Ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple, business value context
    • Ability to be a self-starter, take ownership of opportunities, work independently, and manage simultaneous projects
    • Ability to maintain technical excellence with emerging technologies while continuing to manage customer opportunities
    • Willingness to travel up to 10% globally

    Education and experience required:

     

    • This position is available at three different career levels based upon experience, education, etc:
      • Level one: 2 years IT experience; programming experience or training
      • Level two: 3 years IT experience; 2 years of SAP BW programming experience
      • Level three: 5 years IT experience; 5 years of SAP BW programming experience
      • BS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of relevant experience
      • Experience in SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse 7.x
      • Experience in SAP ABAP programming

         

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Science, Computer Science, or related discipline
    • Experience with Microsoft Azure
    • Experience with R or Python
    • Experience with SAP BW/4HANA or HANA Enterprise
    • Understanding of data science and machine learning
