    Working alongside the Murrysville Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist, the intern will have a unique opportunity to apply their academic learning at a facility that manufacturers products that protect lives in communities around the world. The Environmental, Health & Safety intern will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, interacting with the people who put physical shape to our products. They will contribute within a team environment by supporting any of the following activities:

    Responsibilities

    • Lockout Tagout Machine Specific Procedure Development & Periodic Inspections
    • Hazard Communication program development including chemical inventory, SDS review, development of a sustainable chemical labeling system and chemical specific training.
    • High Risk Training Badge Development and issuance for Forklift Operations, Crane Operations, LOTO authorization, Confined Space Entrant, etc.
    • Personal Protective Equipment Hazard Assessments
    • Emergency Evacuation Plan Updates & Training
    • Compliance Calendar Development
    • Fire Extinguisher Inspection Program
    • Eye Wash Inspection Program
    • Air Permit Compliance Improvements
    • Stretching Program Revamp
    • JSA Development

    Qualifications

     

    • Basic experience with data analysis, methods and graphing.

    • Creative problem solving skills.

    • Strong organizational skills.

    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

    • Ability to work in a team environment.

    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools, with a special emphasis on Excel and Access.

    Education and experience required:

    • Incumbent must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, or other relevant discipline, and must have completed at least two semesters prior to the beginning of this opportunity.
