  • Overview

    This position is primarily responsible for set up and change of dies / molds, and operation of injection molding machines to mold products from thermoplastic materials.  Additionally, this position is responsible for inspecting and trimming excess material from parts and performing secondary operations.  Adherence to safety, housekeeping and quality standards as related to production and company objectives is required.  In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining production goals through productivity targets and cost containment by eliminating waste.


    • Perform set-ups and adjustments on the machines including die / mold changes using power, air and hand tools
    • Perform process control, start-up, process monitoring, press / mold maintenance
    • Prepare raw materials including mixing for processing
    • Coordinate work flow and material handling within work cell
    • Process and pack various component parts
    • Use process support  monitoring equipment, operate fork trucks and cranes
    • Perform visual inspection, trim excess material, and maintain relevant paperwork


    Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

    • Proven ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures
    • Proven ability to understand standard units of measure and to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices  
    • Ability to work in a fast paced repetitive environment
    • Ability to infrequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds without assistance
    • Ability to use power and hand tools, and to operate moderately complex machines and a bridge crane
    • Ability to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporary agency assignments
    • Ability to work in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision
    • Ability to perform lockout / tag-out
    • Ability to obtain fork truck certification
    • Ability to operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area
    • Ability to wear safety glasses ANSI Z87 approved, steel toe shoes, and other PPE as required

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of 6 months previous industrial manufacturing or related experience
