  • Overview

    We are searching for an Electrical Engineer to apply relevant knowledge to resolve internal and external customer design issues that arise with new product development and all released products.  Using a customer centric approach, the successful incumbent will have the opportunity to interface with stakeholders in a variety of internal functions on new product development and/or to determine root cause and corrective actions needed to resolve open concerns rapidly and with excellent communication with all stakeholders. This position reports to the Engineering Manager, Respiratory.  If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, we want to hear from you!


    Specific responsibilities include:

    • New product development and support of global sustaining efforts
    • Provide engineering production support to manufacturing operations
    • Plan, prioritize, and complete engineering investigations on existing products.
    • Investigate and provide data-backed decisions on non-conforming components.
    • Investigate and provide engineering evaluations of customer product inquiries.
    • Provide concise technical reports to support investigations and technical judgments.
    • Participate in regularly scheduled engineering, manufacturing operations meetings and provide necessary technical support.
    • Develop & execute test plans to evaluate products/components.
    • Evaluate requested new product development and product changes vs. agency requirements.
    • Interpret industry standards.
    • Coordinate agency submittals including test data, samples, and required documentation.
    • Participate in design reviews for new products.
    • Participate in cost reduction initiatives.



    Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:


    • Design experience with low power electronics for agency compliance for hazardous environments.
    • Working knowledge of statistics.
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven ability to work in a team environment.
    • Demonstrated customer centric approach.
    • Minimal travel required (less than 5%).

    Education and Experience Required:


    B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.


    This position is available at three different career levels based upon experience, education, etc.:
    o    Level one (Staff Engineer I):  no relevant experience 

    o    Level two (Staff Engineer II): 2 years relevant experience

    o    Level three (Staff Engineer III): 3 years relevant experience

    o    MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience

    o    PhD may be substituted for up to 4 years of experience
