    We are looking for a Data Strategy Manager at Safety io LLC, a software services startup founded by MSA The Safety Company in 2018.  In this role, you will use your combined data science & business experience to help our customers eliminate workplace injuries in some of the most formidable environments in the world!

    Responsibilities

    Develop our data strategy

    • Develop the organization’s 6-12-18 month data strategy action plans with an emphasis on growth
    • Lead an analytics steering team that ensures alignment & engagement between Safety io & MSA

    Implement that strategy

    • Collaborate with our Safety io and MSA teams to extract value from our data sources so that we can use those learnings to reinforce our commitment to and deepen our relationships with our customers
    • Use predictive modeling to improve our services & tools so that we can optimize our customer experience, encourage revenue generation, personalize our services & drive other business outcomes
    • Identify additional data sources (internal or external) that can be incorporated into our services to enhance our offerings
    • Train our Sales team on the value of the insights extracted from our services
    • Deliver insightful presentations to customers so they can improve their safety program approach

    Be the subject matter expert

    • Collaborate with internal resources to customize data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
    • Provide data-driven recommendations to both internal and external customers regarding their data sets, industry or technology trends & challenges, etc.
    • Incorporate mega / macro trends & apply them to our business to determine the growth potential

    Manage and report key performance indicators and success metrics

    • Help our business achieve its P&L KPIs
    • Help our business define and achieve challenging goals associated with its data program
    • Implement processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy

    Qualifications

    Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Required:

    • Demonstrated history of learning & mastery of new approaches and techniques
    • Travel expectations: 10-15% (domestic & international) 

    Education (Required)

    • BS Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related field

     

    Education (Preferred)

    • Advanced degree (MBA, Masters) or related specialty

     

    Experience (Required):

    MBA or related graduate degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience

    • Level II
      • 6 years of progressively increasing responsibilities (marketing, sales or product development function) within a data driven organization
      • 1 year owning / driving a strategy for data-driven organizations or comparable exposure
    • Level III
      • 9 years of progressively increasing responsibilities (marketing, sales or product development function) within a data driven organization
      • 2-3 years owning / driving a strategy for data-driven organizations or comparable exposure

    Experience (Preferred): 

    • Prior experience managing data science team & related vendors
