  • Programming, setting-up, and operating conventional and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to manufacture prototype molds, tooling, fixtures, and parts that require close tolerances
  • Assembling and fabricating fixtures, assemblies, and prototype product using hand and power tools 

  • Working closely with Research & Development (R&D) Engineers to provide input in developing new product designs into working prototype

  • Provides input into product modification with respect to component fabrication

  • Responsible for cost containment and waste elimination

  • Ordering parts and maintain stock levels

  • Schedule and prioritize jobs, maintains relevant paperwork; gets equipment fixed and maintained


Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Proficiency in the use of the following equipment and tools:
    • Conventional Mill (Bridgeport)
    • Engine Lathe
    • Bandsaw
    • Drill Press
    • Surface Grinder
    • Cut-off saw
    • Brake & Shear
  • Working knowledge of metals, plastics, and elastomers required
  • Working knowledge of tooling, steels, and heat treating
  • Ability to understand and work in both metric and standard units of measure
  • Ability to read and work to engineering drawings

Experiece and Education Required:

  • Proficient knowledge in programming and operation of CNC Equipment (Mills / Lathes) with minimum of 5 years of experience (Proficient meaning they can set up, write and run CNC programs and also run CNC equipment)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 year degree from technical school in related field or equivalent certification
